Dads Birthday

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing the 2 cards i made for my dads birthday last month.  The first one is another one of those triple panel cards ive been making and the second one isn't an normal male card but i was given a lovely stamp by stampendous and a Mo Manning lady cycling image and it just reminded me of fun postcards you can get in France which my dad has collected over the years of going to Brittany.  He loved both of them.

So to make the card blank, take an A4 sheet of card, from the left score 3", 1", 2.5", 1" & 3", cut off the extra on the end.  And then cut as high as you like, i used a 6x6" paper so by the time i added my 2 layers for matting it took the card height to 7".  You can easily change all these figures, but its a starting point for those of you who asked how i made them.

After picking the tree pattern paper i picked out olive green and Chocolate brown mirror card to mat and layer.  I die cut the MFT leaves from the olive green and chocolate mirror card and layered together.  I die cut an oval from the same cream card i used for the base card and layered up on larger ovals.  Computer printed sentiment die cut into a circle. Copper nail head gems to finish.

Just a close up.

Onto the 2nd card i made dad.

A5 white cardbase. I stamped the image & sentiment onto white hammered cardstock, doodled in some ground and a breton style hat, i then watercoloured with distress inks.  I stamped a second image and cut out and decoupaged onto the first one to add some dimension.  Mounted onto black card and then the cardbase.  All corners rounded.

A close up.

Items Used:
MFT layered leaves die set
Spellbinders oval dies
Tree pattern paper
Penny Black slapstick Mo Manning 'Enjoy the ride' stamp
Justrite sentiment stamp
CraftUk ltd white card

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you all have a good weekend.  Hugs Emma

Metallic Madness

Good Morning all, one thing ive really noticed with my design team posts is how fast the weeks fly by!

Time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz   the theme this time is

METALLIC MADNESS

So i dug out some mirri card and had a play, ive used 3 colours of mirror card in gold, copper & steel grey, so difficult to take decent photos of it.

5x7" white linen cardbase.  I have die cut lots of leaves from the mirror cards, layered together on a panel of white linen card, overhanging the edge of the panel (cut off excess), which i then matted onto black card and layered onto the white card front.

I die cut the happy birthday circle from white card, matted onto a larger black circle and added to the cardfront on foam tape.  I then added a spare gold leaf to the middle of the sentiment.

This one shows the colour of the mirror card better.  There is 3 leaf outline dies so all 3 are slightly different sizes and shapes.

Items used:
MFT birthday circle die
MFT layered leaf dies
Gold, Copper & Steel grey mirri card
Black & White card

So if you fancy joining in and having fun with metallics or just fancy seeing what everyone comes up with please do hop over to cardz4guyz

Sunshine & Trees

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week, being half term its busy for me with visitors.

Today im sharing 2 cards i made using layered leaf dies that i also thought looked like trees once made up.

6x6 cardblank.  I first cut my 'trees' from orange/red brusho cardstock and the top layer from gold mirror card and glued together.  I cut white card slightly smaller than the cut front and die cut the circle burst from it to act as the sun and lightly inked the edges in blue.  I mounted this with 3d foam over a sheet of yellow paper.  From green patterned paper i die cut 2 curved border panels to act as grass/hills.  Stamped greeting.

Little birds die cut from the same card as my trees base layers.

A close up showing how i left the edges of the 'trees' free and only glued the centres,  i slightly bent them up to add dimension.

I then made a version for my sister in laws birthday in her colours of blues and greens.  This time i cut them from card coloured with distress oxide inks and the top layer with silver mirror card.

Close up, the colours are brighter than the photo shows up.

Memory box lrg circle burst
