Sun, Sea & Sand

Good Morning everyone

Welcome to July and a new challenge over at we love stamping

with the theme this month being Sun, Sea &/or Sand or you can go with the anything goes option.

I decided to dig out my Katzelkraft flamingo stamp - every time i see these guys they make me think they are about to break into doing the can-can

5x7" card base.  See pic below for how i did the background.  I then stamped the flamingos onto white card, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out and arranged them.  Using a light brown fine liner pen i added a little shadow under each flamingo.  I inked the edge of the card with stormy skies & vintage photo distress inks.

Im trying to use old 6x6 paper pads, here i used 'coastal escape' by kaisercraft.  I took a light blue paper for the sky and die cut memory box 'circle burst' into it, behind the circle i added a yellow paper from my stash to act as the sun.
I took a different blue paper for the sea and tore the bottom edge, behind this bottom edge i added a torn strip from a different blue paper to give the effect of waves.  One paper had this fab print of the sand with the water coming in which i added the edge under the blue layer so it looked like the water is over the sand.
I then tore some more pieces from the sand print paper for the front layers.  I then stamped the sentiment with dark blue ink.
I rounded the top corners as felt it picked up the roundness of the sun

Up close of the flamingos - I added a small dot of stickles glitter glue to their head dresses for a little sparkle - I used 'twinkle' stickles which is clear with a purple undertone so ideal for these pinky purple flamingos

and the inside.  I again used papers and elements from the same paper pad.  I had one flamingo left which i added on top of a sentiment strip which reads
'Let the waves hit your feet & the sand be your seat'

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Katzelkraft stamps 'carpe diem quotes'
Memory box die 'circle burst'
Kaisercraft paper pad 'coastal escape'
Ranger stickles 'twinkle'
Distress Inks 'picked raspberry, seedless preserve, ripe persimmon, wild honey, twisted citron, tumbled glass, stormy skies, vintage photo'

3 Flamingos

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing a fun flamingo's on the beach card.  I cut the circle burst into the card front to give an aperture peeking through to a yellow insert as the sun.

6x5.5" white card base.  I first cut the circle burst into the cardbase.  I added a patterned yellow paper inside to peak through as the sun.  Torn kraft colour paper for the sand, die cut palm trees that i was sent by a buddy which i coloured with alcohol pens.  3 die cut flamingo's from card that had been coloured with oxide inks and pixie powders.  Stamped greeting.

Showing the sun aperture better.  I know that in reality my flamingo's are rather big for the flamingo's but hey its artistic license😀

Items used:
Memory box circle burst die (large 98478)
Flamingo die - magazine freebie last year
Palm Trees - make unknown
Birthday sentiment stamp - magazine freebie

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you all have a good weekend. Emma

Make My Monday #48 - at the beach

Good Morning all and welcome to another week, don't they fly by.

So today is the start of a new challenge over at make my monday

the theme this fortnight is

AT THE BEACH

So if you fancy joining in and seeing what the rest of the teach have come up with please do pop over.

I once again dug out my Cornish Seashells and had fun

6x5.5" cardblank.  I used gold glitter card for the sand and then tore strips of the patterned paper for the sea, where you tear its white so gives the effect of waves and movement.

I used a mix of shells and drift wood collected over the years, a little red starfish from my stash, a metal anchor, pearl beads.  Summer tag cut from the paper pad along with the red crab which i thought tied in with the red starfish well.   I found a metal button in my stash which i thought had the feel of a sailors uniform, which i added to the summer tag.

Close up, i covered the crab in glossy accents and added touches of glossy accents as water droplets over the whole card front.

Items used:  Bobunny 'boardwalk collection' papers
Ranger glossy accents
shells, pearl, metal anchor, metal button all from stash
