Tea's Up

Good Morning everyone from a lovely wet Cornwall.

So today im sharing the card i made for my mum for Mother's day.  I went with a tea theme this year as she does love her cup of tea!

First i made the table/table cloth using patterend paper and curved border die, cut some table legs from dark green card.  Die cut and paper pieced the cups, teapot and jug from various papers and dark green card to match the colours in the tablecloth.
I added glitter glue accents to the flowers.  6x6" size.

This shows the dimension i added to the table cloth, and as i wanted the china to be sat on the table i used lots of glue gel,  I die cut a small spoon and fork in silver mirror card and placed on the top top.

Again showing the table top, also as the front was quite heavy to counter balance i used the same papers to layer up for a matching insert.

Im pleased to report mum loved it.

Items used:  Patterned papers B&M 'springtime bouquet'
Joy crafts teapot & cups die set
Xcut 'tea party' die set
Spellbinders scalloped borders 2 (S5202)

Sympathy card

Good Morning all, beautiful sunshine, long may it last.

So today im sharing a simple sympathy card i made for a sudden family death last week.

Ivory pearl cardstock.  A6 size card. Cross die which i glued onto the same card and cut around and mounted on foam.  It looked lost on the card so needed some kind of frame but i still wanted it to be subtle when i remembered seeing on docrafts Miella using her dies to emboss frames into the card, one of those ideas you save at the back of your brain for one day! So if you ever read this Miella, thank you for the inspiration.   So i used a memory box cross stitch rectangle die for the frame, stamped my sentiment in blue ink, a bit softer than black.  This must be the first card ive made all in one colour, but seemed perfect for the occasion.

Items used:  Memory box cross stitch frame border dies
Clearly besotted Sentiment stamps

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you all have a lovely week with lots of sunshine. Emma

In the black

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.

Thank you to everyone who popped by to say hello last week, lovely to see you.

So today i am sharing two little thank you cards.  Inspired by a talented craft friend, who's got me addicted to imagination crafts starlight paints, she sent me a jar of the gold for christmas and since then ive added a couple more colours. She also used them on the black and got my ideas going, so thank you friend😊

The photos don't really do the shimmer justice.

First i painted the thistle die cut (tattered lace i think, was sent to me by another generous friend), these paints dry super fast so no hanging around waiting for paint to dry.  I stamped the sentiment with the paints too, just to see if it would work, best way to get used to a new product i think is to play, some ideas work, some don't, but you are learning as you go
.  Using black card for the base and layer, edged with gold starlights too.  Size approx 3x6"

Trying to show the light hitting the starlights.  I added a touch of the red paint to the blue to get the purpley thistle colour, the colours blend well together to create new colours.

Version 2, again die cuts sent to me, i think they are memory box, just checked and they are actually simon says stamp, but this would work with any flower die cut

I tipped the blue flowers with the gold to add interest and how the light does hit the petals on flowers.

So if you've been looking at these starlight paints, id say go for it, they are lovely to work with👍

Items used:  Imagination crafts 'starlights' - 133 red, 134 blue, 135 green, 136 rich gold

Octopus notelets

Good Morning everyone.

So today im sharing these 2 little notelet cards.
Again brusho's in action, seeing as it took me a while to get into using them, they are my go to staple now, perfect for making unique backgrounds and papers.  Ive added a few cosmic shimmer pixie powders to the mix which have a lovely pearl finish, the 2 mix perfectly together.

A6 cardblank.  A strip of brusho/pixie powder cardstock, layered onto navy cardstock, stamped sentiment in colbalt blue archival ink.  I die cut the octopus twice and layered up, a tip from a crafty friend, makes it more like chipboard and then coated it with starlights gold paint.  I backed the eyes with navy cardstock too.  I used glue gel to glue the octopus on after shaping him to add dimension.  He is pointing to the sentiment as i think its little details like that that tie a design together.

Close up to show the purple pixie powder shimmer, i also added glossy accent water droplets.

Same as before but different colour mix of the brusho's and pixie powders.

Close up.

These are fairly quick cards once you have made and let the backgrounds and starlight paints dry.  I used imagination crafts starlight paint 136 Rich Gold.  Apart from the navy cardstock its amazing to think this was all made from white cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by and your comments this week.  I wish you all a wonderful weekend and happy crafting.  Emma

CAS Peacock cards

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing these CAS peacock cards, again brusho's in action.

I die cut the peacocks and then used brusho's to colour them, once dry i added sparkle pen over the top, gorgeous when it catches the light.  Sentiment cut from black card, white backgound embossed with clouds and matted onto black and a white cardbase.  I shaped the peacock before attaching to add interest and make it less flat.

Embossed background, happy birthday die cut, this time i added blue sequins to the peacock and background

This one has pink sequins but don't show up very well in the photo.

Items used:  Brusho powders, Crafters companion clear overlay sparkle pens,
