Rainbow flower thank you cards

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week, i hope you are all enjoying your bank holiday weekend.  Been beautiful weather down here in Cornwall.

So today i am sharing a couple of thank you cards i made using a die i was given for my birthday.  It comes in 2 parts, the main floral part which cuts out and then an outside edge die, so you can either cut it into or out of your card.

5x7" Navy cardblanks.  First i used my wink of stella pens to watercolour a rainbow background (see below), i then die cut the floral frame.  On dark navy cardstock i embossed the floral frame, which i then slotted behind the rainbow front and it gives the effect of quilting, much easier than cutting and gluing all parts back in to get the effect.

To emboss a die and not cut it, just put it through your machine with a rubber embossing mat, this pushes the card into the gaps on the die.  Sandwich will vary to your machine, i use the embossing folder sandwich on my bigshots.

Wrapped with coordinating twine, stamped greeting die cut into a tag and eyelet added. Gems to finish. I didn't want to cover up too much of the flower so kept the sentiment small.

This one is the opposite of the first, the floral frame is die cut in dark navy card stock and the rainbow panel embossed and slotted in behind.

Close up trying to catch the sparkle of the wink of stella pens

Just showing the wink of stella panel, i used a wet in wet technique which helps them blend together, you can see the sparkle. I actually used fired brick distress ink for the red, must get a red wink of stella.  So they blend perfectly together.

Thank you for stopping by, i hope you all enjoy your bank holiday monday.  Emma

Make My Monday 53# - lazy summer days

Good Morning all and welcome to another new week.

Its the start of a new challenge over at Make My Monday

the theme this fortnight is

Lazy Summer Days

I found this fairy silhouette in my stash which i backed with acetate and then painted the back with starlight paints.  The mica in the paints shines beautifully through the acetate. As ive done alot of beach scenes lately I wanted to think of different ways to spend a lazy summer day, and i think many of us love to lounge in the garden among the flowers and listen to the birds singing.

6x6 black card blank.  White card embossed with flowers.  I built up the starlight paints on the back of the acetate panel, i sponged a little of the sun colours around the outside of it for a sun halo.  Once completely dry i added to the white panel with glue gel so that the light can get behind it and help with the stained glass effect.  I found it better to build up thin layers of the paint.

I added some die cut leave and birds to the outside frame and a die cut dream. White gel pen highlights

i also added glitter glue to the fairy's wings

Items used:
Imagination Crafts starlight paints 129, 135, 136, 139, 144, 161
Stickles tutti fruitti
Spellbinders mbossibilities EL-005
Memory box 'serene bird'

A little cat card

Good Morning everyone,

Today im sharing a simple little card to thank a friend who sent something for Suki the cat, Suki is black so thought it was apt trying out my new katzelkraft stamp.  The design is by katzelkraft and just my take on it.

Ironically as id added the ink splats Suki came to add a helping hand and they turned into drops, so this card was definitely a joint thank you from Suki and I.  Many of you know the state Suki was in when I took her on, a year on and she is an amazing healthy fit cat, so all those vets bills and TLC were worth it, she is also settling down and much less nervous.

DL white card blank, black patterned paper, white card layer, i found the card easier to roll back after wetting it to soften the layers.  I had stamped the cat first so could get the right placement of the 'tears'  Ink splats and sentiment to finish.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft Cat - Mini 002
Penny Black - Kool Kats (sentiment)
Distress inks cracked pistachio, tumbled glass & ripe persimmon

As many of you know its my birthday today and i have a lovely big pile of amazing handmade cards to open, so thank you to you all, i will of course get around to thanking you all personally in a few days.  I have blood tests to kick start the morning - what fun, but then its a day with the family, with lunch in a restaurant over looking the beach and sea which im sure we will get down onto afterwards with the children.

Ive been spoilt with lots of crafty presents too.

I hope you all have a good day too.  Hugs Emma

Floral birthday cards

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing some floral cards, i made the first one for my best friends birthday and decided to make a couple more for the box. Once again brusho and pixie powder papers in use. I tend to have an afternoon making papers with my brusho's so they are ready to use another day.

6x5" cardblank.   I die cut the floral spray from green and blue/purple brusho paper and snipped and layered it together.  Stamped greeting die cut into a banner. Orange pearls to embellish.  I doodled with a blue fine liner around the card edge to add a border.

Version 2, the same details as above just a different style floral spray die. Yellow pearls on this one.

Peach/orange version, dark plum pearls.  Border doodled with orange fine liner.

and the last on in the set.  You can't really see the pearl shine of the pixie powders on them until the light hits it.

Items used:
Kaszazz Craft Dies
Justrite - graceful sentiments - CR-02147
Brusho powders
Cosmic shimmer pixie powders

Thank you for stopping by and all your comments on my monday make.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.  Emma

Make My Monday #52 pink & grey

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week, i hope you enjoyed the weekend.

So today is the start of a new challenge over at Make My Monday

the theme this time is

PINK & GREY

I decided this would be the ideal time to use some double sided pink and grey papers i have.  I found this idea on pinterest for taking circles and folding them to make a square.  Turned out not quite as easy as it looked trying to get the folds square (so don't look too close😏).

First die circles from the double sided papers and score on 4 sides and fold upwards, these i arranged in a square onto a square of charcoal paper.  White A5 cardblank, matted with white hammered card and charcoal grey paper.  I added pink buttons threaded with thread where the squares joined.

Stamped greeting die cut into an oval and layered on a strip of pink paper.

A close up of the square circles or round squares

Sorry the photos are a bit dark, we haven't seen much sunshine lately down here.

Items used:
Papers - Crafts you create (B&M) - 'Bold & Beautiful'
Stampin up - wetlands stamp set
Spellbinders Circle & Oval nestabilities

So please do pop over to join in and see what the rest of the team has come up with Make My Monday

Thank you for stopping by as always and i hope you all have a good week whatever you have planned.  Emma

Happy 2nd Birthday Alice

Good Morning all.

So today is my niece's 2nd birthday, where did that time go?  As for all family birthdays i make 2 cards, one from my parents as well, so im sharing both cards today.

Unicorn Rocker card.  I die cut various circles using spellbinders grand circle dies.  I then cloud embossed 2 layers and inked them up so that the clouds show up.  I then die cut the sun and rainbow from white card and watercoloured them.  I added touches of pink to the unicorn and layered her up on the card with some clouds.  Computer printed 2 today.

Close up, i added glitter to the sun and unicorn.  I was sent the unicorn die cut by a friend.

Just showing it stood up.

and below showing the second card i made, I always try to make the 2 completely different, not always easy.

6x6 cardblank.  I first die cut the fox from orange, white and brown cardstock and made him up.  Die cut trees from silver glitter card and added a shadow with brown cardstock, matted onto pale blue paper, orange and silver glitter card.  A scrap of brusho card die cut into a curve for him to sit on. Computer printed sentiment.

Just a close up of the fox.

Items used:
Sizzix fox die
Curved border die
MFT rainbow and sun die set
Cloud die set
Spellbinders grand & fancy circle die sets
Crafters companion cloud embossing folder
Brusho's

Thank you for popping by and all the comments you left recently.  I hope you are having drier weather than we are down here.  Hugs Emma
