Make My Monday #58 - chocolate bar wrappers

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

So its another new challenge over at make my monday , these fortnights seem to come round fast.  The theme this time is:

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

So i decided to make some chocolate bar wrappers, makes a little gift idea and can easily be matched to the card.  I use galaxy chocolate bars as they still come with a paper sleeve, you can remove this and it leaves the chocolate always covered with the inner foil.

Remove the paper sleeve and use this to measure the patterned paper needed, carefully wrap this around the chocolate bar and glue together to form a sleeve.  I die cut lots of daisy flowers and then built up flowers, die cut blue pearl florishes.  Stamped sentiment die cut into a fishtail banner. Pearls to finish.  I stamped the greeting in grey as a bit softer than black.

This one is pale blue and violet combo

and below as i had flowers & die cuts left over ive made matching cards,

Using dies i die cut a white octogen cardblank, added the patterned paper, die cut a octogen frame.  Stamped sentiment die cut into an octogen.  Then i arranged the left over flowers and die cuts. Pearls to finish.

The same but different layout.

Items used:
Crealies Octogen patchwork die set
Memory box Stitched Octogen dies
Daisy flower dies
Sizzix swirl dies
Justrite sentiment stamps
Watering can Archival ink
Blue Coredinations gemstone cardstock
Lilac/ivory centura pearl cardtock

Here Come the Men!

Good Morning everyone.

So today im sharing a couple of Male birthday cards.

A5 Kraft Cardblank.  First i die cut the wheat from brusho coloured card.  Embossed white card with brick embossing folder and then added some colour using the same brusho's as the wheat.   Printed greeting die cut into a rectangle.  I then die cut a frame from kraft card and mounted on foam pads.  I then added the wheat and a twine bow.

A close up of the wheat, i shaped it a bit with a ball tool first.  I went with wheat as its for a farmer and also apt for this time of year.

on to a simple card

6x5 white cardblank.  I then die cut into the card front using the tim holtz mixed media die.  I add an insert from patterned paper, folding so the pattern is on the outside and white on the inside.  Stamped sentiment die cut into an oval.  I cut some of the red paper with the mixed media die and added them to the front for more interest.

Close up showing the detail.

and below a very simple card for an elderly gentleman with no interests

5x5 white card blank.  Black and white pattern paper matted onto red card.  He had bad eyesight so went with bold colours.  Stamped sentiment die cut into an oval and a strip of the same paper added across the front.  A simple card but might give one of you some inspiration for those pesky males!

Sparkly Snowflakes

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.  I hope you are all well.

So today i am sharing a batch of snowflake and sequin cards i made.  I also used pearlised and a little glitter card, so full on Christmas sparkle!

6x6 white linen cardblank, i have then die cut the border and snowflake into the front of the cardblank.  I then die cut a piece of pearlised card with the same border die and embossed it, this i then added inside the card behind the snowflake aperture. Green and Silver colour combo.

LOTV stamped sentiment, die cut into a banner and backed with a little glitter card in silver.  I added glitter glue around the snowflake aperture and a few sequins in matching colours to finish.  These are flat for posting.

Trying to show that i didnt glue the embossed panel down completely so you still get some movement and interest.

Showing it stood up with the shaped bottom

This one is green and gold, snowfall embossing

Red and gold, snow falling embossing

red and silver, snowflake embossing

Charcoal Black and silver, snowflake embossing.

Im still on a stash busting mission so the coloured card is pearlised by core'dinations, 12x12 so i got 4 panels per sheet, so made 12 in total.  I went with a green, red and black colour.  I don't often go for full on bling, but its christmas so why not!

Make My Monday #57 - Halloween

Morning everyone, I hope that the forecast storm isn't effecting you all too bad.

So its a new challenge over at Make My Monday  the theme this fortnight is

I Put a Spell on You (HALLOWEEN)
or
A Thank You Card

I had great fun making my first real Halloween card.  I dug out the chocolate Baroque moon howling stamp set ive also had for years, my wink of stellas and had fun.

First i cut a black card blank using the largest Spellbinders grand labels 1.  I used the dies again to cut a black frame that i used silver gilding wax on it to give a distressed moonlit look.  On white card i stamped my little scene using various stamps from the set and extending the path with a black fine liner.  I then added pebeo drawing gum to mask them.

Using Wink of Stella pens in blue, purple, black, yellow & Orange i made a background using the wet into wet technique. Once completely dry, carefully remove the drawing gum mask.

I glued the spiders web to the back of the frame so that it is hanging over the front.  I also added silver gilding to the web and spiders and crackle accents to finish on the spiders.

I added a few highlights with a white gel pen.

The photos don't sadly pick up the amazing sparkle of the wink of stella pens.

Items Used:
Chocolate Baroque 'Howling Moon' stamp set
Spellbinders Grand Labels 1
Pebeo Gilding Wax Silver
Wink of Stella pens
Spider and Web Dies
Ranger Crackle Accents.

So if you fancy joining in the halloween fun do pop over to

Im often asked which card i use for my brusho backgrounds and I now use Craft UK white card for everything, they do smooth, linen and hammered, it die cuts, stamps, and takes all wet techniques perfectly and being 300gsm its perfectly for card bases.

Sorry if i missed you last week, been out with a chest infection, after coming back from france with a cold.  So i will catch up with you all soon.  I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Grumpy Penguins

Good Morning all and welcome to another new week.

So today i am sharing the first christmas cards ive made this year.  I just loved these grumpy penguins when i saw them in action last year so just had to buy them. Their expressions just make me laugh. I have combined them with an acetate cardbase and brusho/pixie powder mix for the backgrounds.

First Make an acetate 6x6" cardblank using the snowfall acetate.  Then using brushos & pixie powders make wintry backgrounds.  Stamped the penguins and added a little colour to the beaks and eyes using wink of stella pens.  I then cut them out.  I die cut a frame from white cardstock and then mounted the penguins.  From left over brusho card i die cut various snowflakes, layered them up and added a gem to finish.

Just different colours, i also added splashes of white paint to the background to match the snowfall on the acetate.

I love that using the brusho's and pixie powders that no two backgrounds are the same.

Just showing the card stood up and showing the acetate better.  I also added matching die cuts to the back of the front and back of the back so that no glue is on show, it also adds more space for writing and little messages that we add sometimes.

I know im behind the times making my first acetate cards but really enjoyed them, so watch out for more acetate in action!

Items Used:
Katzelkraft KTZ145 'Les Pingouins Grumpy' stamps

Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders
Hunkydory Snowfall acetate

A Mixed Medley of thank yous

Good Morning all.

Thank you for the welcome back and all your views and comments on mondays card.  Today im sharing a few thank you cards i made recently.  All very different.

This first one was to thank a good friend who sent me lots of lovely crafty goodies to 'play' with.   First i stamped the lily twice, once onto the topper and the 2nd one to cut out the flower and decoupage.  I coloured it all with Wink of Stella pens and added some splats to the background.  I die cut using tattered lace square die (you don't want to know how long ive had them without using!!!)  Matted onto a Turquoise 6x6 card blank.  Die cut thank you and gems added.

Close up catching the mica in the wink of stella pens.  I also added highlights with a white gel pen.

*************************************************

This 2nd one was is a thank you for looking after the cats while i was away,  I made 2 the same as Tilly goes to the farm to stay when im away and the other two stay at home being looked after.

I first die cut the collage circle design then using my stamp platform i lined up the cat stamp so that its front paws were over the die cut as it its was hanging on, using the stamp platform i could stamp over the cat 3 times to get a lovely dark silhouette on the linen card. I then stamped the greeting. Due cut into a square and mounted onto a 6x6 black pearl cardblank.

Close up, i slotted a scrap of orange card behind the 'aperture'
