1st Blog Birthday

Good Morning all, gosh can you believe today my blog is 1 year old, and what a year.  Thank you to all my regular followers and those that stop by now and then.

Today i am sharing a batch of cards that came together from backgrounds made with brusho/pixie powder mix left over from my Christmas cards and the white inverted scallop squares which were the 'left over' from die cut frames i used.

Lemon & Blue combo, Violet flower die
5x5 cardbase.  I die cut the tim holtz mixed media die into my white top panel, this i mounted over a panel of lemon & blue brusho cardstock.  I cut my violets from the same card, i added a little blue glue to the flower centres.  Sentiment can easily be changed to any occasion.

5x5" White base card.  Square mat cut from my backing paper.  I then die cut the collage corner die into the topper, stamped sentiment in grey and mounted with 3D foam.  Die cut butterflies and glitter glue to finish.

This first one is a lilac/green combo

Orange & Lilac combo.  The photos don't really do the colours justice as the pixie powders really do sparkle when the light hits them.

Lilac & Peach, Tim holtz mixed media corner die

Orange & Blue combo

Green & Orange,

And finally a mix up of orange, green & Lilac.  I gently shaped the butterfly wings and only add glue down the middle so that the wings are lifted up off the card.

Items Used:
Tim Holtz Mixed Media dies
Poppystamps Ring Collage die 1760
Sizzix Butterfly die set
Memory box viola die
Double stitched square die set
Justrite sentiment stamps
Brusho's & Pixie powders

Make My Monday #60 - Happy Christmas

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.

Its once again time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday  and the countdown to Christmas has begun with the theme of

Happy Christmas / Happy Holidays

Ive made a quirky fun card using my new paperartsy stamp set. Im seem to be going through a quirky stage with images.

A5 white cardblank. I first stamped the images and simply coloured them with inktense pencils.  I added glossy accents to the eyes and rudolph's nose and then cut them out.  I die cut a frame backed with white card and the stamped sentiment.  Dry embossed background, ive matted them all onto multi-coloured paper.  I mounted the frame with 3D foam and slotted the characters in to look like they are peeking out.

Close up.

Items used:
Paperartsy -Elenazinski Art 'ZA19'
MFT frame die
Sizzix Holly Embossing folder
Derwent Inktense pencils
Ranger glossy accents
Happy Watercolour paper pad - poundland

Its A Double Diamond Christmas

Good Morning everyone and welcome to a new week. I hope you are all keeping warm and those of you with that nasty cough and cold are on the mend.

So today i am sharing a set of double diamond fold cards i made for Christmas.  These are really fiddly to make up, although i use a die to cut them out. I dug out all those old Christmas papers and sat die cutting for several evenings.

These first two use LOTV nitwit papers.  Using the tattered lace diamond fold die, line it up and cut twice, then carefully using a bone folder manipulate all the score lines until it all comes together.  Then i die cut the papers using the matting dies in the set.

For my embellishments i picked up on the christmas roses and holly in the paper and built up simlar toppers with flower, holly and pine dies.  Pearls to finish.

This one is the opposite colours with buttons to finish.  Also shows them standing up easily.

I computer printed the sentiment and die cut and added to the back of the card, plain paper added to the sides to write the message on.

Button Holly.  Picking up on the holly and colours in the LOTV/Nitwit papers.  I die cut the holly from pearl olive and soft gold cardstocks, they matched the paper colours pretty well.  Buttons used as the holly berries.

Just showing the front.

Red & Gold Poinsettia.  Spellbinder poinsettia die cut from ruby red and green cardstock, gently shaped and a pearl centre.  All papers from Kaisercraft 'holy night'  The papers have gold foiling which doesn't show up too well.

 Showing from the front.

and below a fun one with those grumpy penguins again

Katzelkraft grumpy penguin, stamped, coloured and fussy cut out, spellbinders snowflake die cut from white card and added behind the penguins. Papers poundland 'pure frozen', glitter glue to finish.

Floral Birthday Set

Good Morning All, i hope you are having a good week.

So today i am sharing another Card and Matching chocolate wrapper set.  On a roll with these at the moment.

A5 white cardblank.  I then coloured white card with various distress oxide inks and die cut alot of flowers, butterflies and foliage.  I also used the same oxide inks to colour a background which i matted behind a white dry embossed panel.

Computer printed sentiment which i backed behind a die cut frame.   Then arranged all my flowers and some gold die cut foliage. Glitter glue accents to the centre of the flowers.

I first wrapped the chocolate bar with a pale blue ombre backing paper. Computer sentiment.  I used just one part of the frame this time to frame the sentiment.  Arranged left over flowers.

Just showing them together.  This was my first outing with Distress Oxide inks, i put off buying any as did i really need more inks.....well turns out that yep i do, so more colours on the way and hopefully time in the new year to really play with them.

Make My Monday #59 - snow fun

Good Morning Everyone, welcome to a new week.  I hope you all had a good weekend.

So today is the start of a new challenge over at Make My Monday

The theme this fortnight is

SNOW FUN

So back to playing with those wonderful grumpy penguins, snowy acetate & yep you guessed it Brusho's and Pixie Powders.  Im sure getting my money's worth out of those little pots of colourful magic.  Ive made tag shaped cards.

First i stamped the penguins in black ink and added touches of colour with wink of stella pens and fuzzy cut them out.

Die cut a white cross stitch tag, which i then layered onto brusho card and cut a small border, then i added this to a white 4x6 top fold card blank and cut the top corners to match the shape of the tag.  I added a strip of snowy acetate on to the tag and added my penguins with glue gel..

Die cut a large snowflake from brusho card, this i put over hanging the edge of the card.  Stamped Joy hand cut and added with glue gel.  Orange gem to pick up on the colour of the penguins beaks and feet.

Card 2, similar but different colours with the brusho's

Card 3, different colour again.

Close up, you can also see the acetate strip better here.  This were left over from my first penguin cards.

I made a small batch of these.  Ive had great fun with these penguins this year.

Floral Acetate Birthday card

Good Morning all and welcome to Monday.  I hope you all had a good weekend.

Today i am sharing a card and chocolate wrapped set i made for a good friends birthday.

6x6 Acetate cardbase, i then used this beautiful floral paper as the insert.  A white die cut frame added with foam tape to the front, white die cut birthday sentiment.  I then fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves out of the left over paper, gently shaped and added to the front.  Glitter glue to highlight and embellish.

Close up showing some detail

Just showing the insert, the paper is double sided with a lovely pale lemon inside. I added the glue for the insert under the frame so you can't see if through the acetate.

Chocolate bar wrapper.  I wrapped the paper around the bar to make a sleeve, stamped greeting die cut into a rectangle and more fussy cut flowers to finish.

I just love this paper so was nice to use it as the main feature for the card and not hiding it all.  Its from Crafts you create 'springtime', the papers are very good quality and lovely designs.

Items used:
Crafts you create 'springtime' papers (B&M)
Mama elephant frame die
Cheerylynn Birthday sentiment die
Stampin up 'sassy salutation' stamp
Hunkydory acetate
Stickles fruit punch

Little town of Bethlehem

Good Morning all, i hope you are enjoying some sunshine this week.

So today i am sharing a batch of Christmas cards i made with a traditional theme but maybe not quite so traditional colours.  Sorry but its a brusho/pixie powder mix again.

7x7" white card blank.  I first stamped the image onto white card and die cut into a square.  I then using brusho's and pixie powders added colour to the background. Doing it this way i could have alittle control over which area the colour goes in.  Once completely dry i stamped over the top with a christmas script stamp in white gesso.  I then stamped the village again and cut it out and added it over the first image with glue gel.

I then cut a white frame, matted it onto mirror card, then mounted onto backing 'paper' made with the matching brusho colours as the topper.  Sentiment die cut in same colours.

Orange and Green version with gold mirri card

Close up.  As the backgrounds are so busy i kept the main focal point white to help it stand out.

Blue & Orange version with Silver mirri.

Blue & Gold version with Silver Mirri.  This version i stamped the christmas script with grey ink.

Pink & Purple version with gold mirri.

I managed to make 30 of these cards, although the design in the same the different colours and you never get the same background once using the brushos keeps it interesting.

Items used;
Anitas 'Little town of bethlehem' stamp
PSX 'christmas script' stamp K-3221
Cheerylynn Christmas sentiment die
Brushos and Cosmic shimmer pixie powders
Large stitched square dies
7x7 craft uk cardblanks
