Keep cool cut with alpha dies in kraft and duck egg blue card, i then off set them and added glossy accents.

Dad - Father's day card

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.

Boy was it hot at the weekend, so i hope you all managed to keep cool, we had the fans going full blast, but of course its ideal hay and silage making weather so the family is busy making the most of the sunshine.

So today im sharing the card i made for my dad for Father's day.  Its using the diamond fold card die set from tattered lace.

Taking an A4 sheet of white card i used the main die and cut it into the card 3 times, with a slight gap between them, then some jiggery pokery and good scoring of the fold lines it all folded up in the right places, this takes some patience but worth it.  I then cut the wood  paper panels, i used cork for the 'dad' which i cut out with a bigz die.

Showing it side on and that it stands up easily on its own, but i didn't add to many heavy embellishments

Showing the back, i used another wood grain paper, here i added my sentiment and greeting

Just showing the embellishment close up, i covered chipboard hexagons with metal rust effect paper and crackle accents, once dry i added the screw top brads.

Items Used:
Papermania 'Mr Smiths workshop' papers
Tattered lace 'diamond fold card' die set
Sizzix Tim Holtz ' word play' bigz die
Ranger crackle accents

Scribble Roses

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week.

So today im sharing the second lot of cards i made with the scribble rose dies.

5x7" Cards, i embossed the largest double stitched die into the card front, then die cut 2 more layers with the double stitched rectangles and stamped the sentiment on the smaller one.  I inked up white card with distress inks and die cut lots of the scribble roses and stictched leaves and then layered up together.  Ripe persimmon ink for the flowers
Cracked pistachio and lucky clover ink for the leaves

Picked raspberry DI for the flowers

Squeezed Lemonade DI, i also made a little gift card to go with the birthday card.

To make the gift card i die cut another stitched rectangle, scored in one end to form a small pocket and then folded the rest in half.

Items used:
Stampin up - 'sassy salutations' sentiment stamps
Tim Holtz distress inks - squeezed lemonade, ripe persimmon, picked raspberry, cracked pistachio, lucky clover
Double stitched rectangle dies

Make My Monday #48 - at the beach

Good Morning all and welcome to another week, don't they fly by.

So today is the start of a new challenge over at make my monday

the theme this fortnight is

AT THE BEACH

So if you fancy joining in and seeing what the rest of the teach have come up with please do pop over.

I once again dug out my Cornish Seashells and had fun

6x5.5" cardblank.  I used gold glitter card for the sand and then tore strips of the patterned paper for the sea, where you tear its white so gives the effect of waves and movement.

I used a mix of shells and drift wood collected over the years, a little red starfish from my stash, a metal anchor, pearl beads.  Summer tag cut from the paper pad along with the red crab which i thought tied in with the red starfish well.   I found a metal button in my stash which i thought had the feel of a sailors uniform, which i added to the summer tag.

Close up, i covered the crab in glossy accents and added touches of glossy accents as water droplets over the whole card front.

Items used:  Bobunny 'boardwalk collection' papers
Ranger glossy accents
shells, pearl, metal anchor, metal button all from stash

Under the Sea Mixed Media picture

Good Morning all, i hope you had a good weekend and had better weather than we do, been lots and lots and lots more rain down here.

So today I am sharing a 3d picture ive made, including a lovely mermaid.

8x10" Box Frame.  First i made the background, more details of that below.  Then i built up my undersea world with shells and driftwood,  mostly collected on Cornish beaches over the years.  I added clear glitter sparkle to my laser cut mermaid, die cut foliage as seaweed.  I think the mermaid has told the fish on the right a secret and the other fish are rushing to find out first what the gossip is😊

Close up of the mermaid

a little seahorse is hiding among the shells and seaweed.

The golden octopus is looking after the message in the bottle.
I used green alcohol ink to colour the clear mini bottle green, a scrap of rolled up and inked paper to act as the letter in the bottle.  You can see the effect of the sea salt in the background on this one

Background - i first used brushos and pixie powders onto white card, i then sprinkled on chunky sea salt and allowed to dry naturally.  I then stamped lots of different shells in different colour distress inks, using a circle mask (home made) i stamped through with dictionary stamp and grey ink, using the same circle mask i inked through with perfect medium and heat embossed with green pearl embossing powder,  I stamped the little circle border (kinda electic) in dark grey and went over the circles with crackle accents, all of these to give the effect of bubbles.

Showing more of the detail in the background, you can see some of the stamping, shells and the script bubbles better.

Items Used:
Stamps - Chocolate Baroque 'seashell collage'
Stampin up 'kinda eclectic' &  'dictionary'

Brusho's - sea green, turquoise, lime,
Pixie Powder - violet
Inks - Distress inks -
Watering can archival ink
Heritage embossing powder 'green pearl'
Imagination Crafts starlight paints - rich gold, orange oxidized

I would like to enter this into

Thank you for stopping by, wishing you all a good week. Emma

Floral birthday card

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week, especially for those of you amid half term.

So today I am sharing the second card i made for my Sister in law, this one is for my parents to give her.   Luckily my SIL enjoys colour as much as i do so i dug out one of my favourite My Minds Eye paper pads.

7x7 white card blank. Turquoise, olive & magenta cardstock to match the colours in the paper.  After matting the paper onto turquoise and gluing to the blank i die cut a frame, topper and birthday sentiment.  Die cutting lots and lots of cornflowers i then built up the flowers, very time consuming, but worth it.  A little butterfly and turquoise pearls to finish.

Close up of the flowers, each flower has at least 6 layers, but the big one 10 layers with all the 'petals' teased apart to add the frill that real cornflowers have.   I find it therapeutic to sit and make up flowers of an evening in front of the tv.

A second card I made for the box.

Items used:
My Minds Eye - Kate & Co 'Cambridge Court' papers
Sue Wilson - cornflower die set
Sizzix Butterflies - 659971
Mama Elephant - union square die set
