Bright & Colourful Butterfly

Good Morning everyone

Today is a card i made for a lovely crafty friend using the aall&create butterfly stamp.  Ive made it as a stained glass window effect using acetate and alcohol inks - nightmare to get a decent photo though๐Ÿ˜€

8x8" cardbase.  I first stamped the butterfly on the cardfront and cut around the inside of the outer edge, so i just had a black outline.  I then added brusho's to the front in turquoise and lime to give the effect of the sky/grass and blotted it with tissue as i didn't want too dark a colour.  I also edged around the outside edge of the butterfly with a grey inktense pencil and water to give a shadow.
On a piece of acetate i stamped the butterfly again with black stazon ink and on the back i coloured it in with alcohol inks, using a little brush to get a more precise placement, before adding the inks i coloured the berries with white paint pen, this ensured they remained white on the front, i added a few highlights using an alcohol marker blending pen - this removes the alcohol inks from the acetate. Then i attached this to the back of the card front, lining it up with the outline and trimming off any excess overhang.
On the front i added a stamped body with glue gel and added glitter glue highlights to some of the flower centers.   A Tim holtz chat sticker to finish.
I added a white insert as that helps the colours stay bright but i had the idea that it could all be removed and the butterfly front kept as a window sun catcher with the light shining through if the recipient liked.

Just showing it side on, i inked around the outside edge of the card with black soot & chipped sapphire distress inks

and this one proves it is acetate and a stained glass effect๐Ÿ˜ - this is it held up against the window, although in hindsight i could have done that before sticking the card together for a more effective photo - but i never think that far ahead! lol

Items Used:
Aall&create butterfly stamp - floral wings #322
Tim Holtz chat sticker
Brusho's - turquoise & Lime
Ranger Tim Holtz alcohol inks - various colours
Pebeo white paint pen
Ranger diamond glitter glue
CraftUK ltd white smooth card

Thank you all for stopping by again.  Hopefully the weather improves for the weekend and you all have fun whatever you get upto. Hugs Emma
