Good Morning everyone
Todays 2 cards are using a lovely stamp set from uniko that i was lucky enough to win in a blog challenge, we got to pick the stamp set we would like and i had a difficult time deciding, so many lovely stamp sets that although this is my first set of stamps from uniko it certainly won't be my last๐
The lovely verse in the set reads
'Butterflies drift in the gentle breeze, in an English country garden'
Ive made rare for me one layer cards with just the one stamp set. In the last couple of weeks with the sunshine i saw quite a few butterflies which was lovely.
5.5" square base card. For my first outing with the stamps i stamped the small solid butterfly onto the base with a red/orange ombre ink using the 2nd generation of ink too. As its a textured hammer card it didn't stamp perfectly in places. I then stamped the small details butterfly with grey archival ink and stamped the butterfly quote with black ink.
I stamped 1 large and 2 small detailed butterflies onto white card and cut them out, gently curved their wings and added to the card with glue gel. I then added lots of gold gems to finish.
and take 2. 5.5" white linen cardbase. This time i stamped with a blue/green ombre inkpad - ive had these ink pads years and they are brilliant for this kind of stamping. I stamped the background the same as the first card.
I then stamped the detailed butterflies & verse onto vellum. The butterflies I coloured on the back with alcohol markers and then attached to white paper with just a little tacky pva down the middle of the bodies, once the glue was dry i cut around the vellum & paper at the same time. This meant the paper was the same size as the butterfly but without the detailed stamping so that a nice clean paper was behind the vellum to really let the colours show.....i had tried the vellum butterflies direct on the background but the blue made them look muddy and layering onto a stamped version on white didnt look as crisp either.
The butterfly verse i trimmed the vellum onto a strip and a matching size strip from white paper, i glued the white version to the card and then added the vellum version on top with a small line of glue on either side which i then hid under gems. I also added gems to the butterfly bodies to finish.
Hopefully this angle makes sense of how i made the butterflies, you can see the plain white paper versions under the vellum.
Items Used:
Uniko Stamps - English Country Garden - butterflies
Kaleidacolor inkpads - desert heat & Caribbean sea
Alcohol markers
Vellum

Hi Emma ๐๐ป๐๐ผ♀️Love the butterflies. Both look so different and react differently with the papers choice. Fab cards ๐๐ฅฐLynne xx
Beautiful cards and butterflies-they look lovely on the vellum and the uneven stamping adds a textured look

Those are both fantastic cards, I love the design and the stamping on that paper along with the ombre ink gives the look of water coloring, so pretty! Thanks for joining us at Four Seasons!

Gorgeous cards Emma, and mine really brightened up my day when it arrived. So inspiring too. The design has helped me make a dreaded male card, so thank you for sharing. Big hugs Kirsty. x
Some cards are happiness rendered in papercrafting form. Both of these butterfly-filled beauties exemplify that point to a tee!
