Floral shutter cards

Good Morning all.
Sorry I missed Saturdays upload, was down with a major migraine and then we lost electricity so made for a weekend best spent under the covers😞

So today im sharing 3 shutter cards ive made, all flower power as its always one of my favourite to make.   I was sent the shutter card blanks from a good friend and the mats, so the fun was finding stuff in my own stash to go with them.

Navy card blank, beautiful navy and blue pattern paper from poundland, matted onto kraft card.  I found the peach/salmon paper in my stash which seemed to go well and brighten up the colour.  Die cut with Sue Wilson cornflower dies, i inked the edges, glued together and once dry fluffed up the petals to add dimension.  Tattered lace fern cut in pale blue card. Gem centres to finish.

So for this one, grey cardblank and the lovely grey/orange/turquoise check paper came with them, flowers die cut from various matching paper and white card, sizzix dies, little butterflies, grey pearl card used for the foliage.

Get well shutter.  So for this one the purple card was in the box and i found the pink pattern paper in my stash which matched well and toned in, matted onto white to break up the colour.  Flowers cut in white and inked with blue, blue pearl centres. Butterflies.  Foliage cut in mint green which matches the background of the paper.

Close up.

Make My Monday Challenge #40 - Love Birds

Good Morning all, and welcome to another week.

Today is rather exciting for me as im sharing my first design team creation for
 Make My Monday challenge blog.

The theme this time is BIRDS so if you fancy joining in pop over click here! for more details and to see the other team member gorgeous projects.

Ive been itching to use the crazy bird stamps i got for Christmas, so when i saw it was birds i knew what i wanted to do.  I had earlier found these feathers in the back of my craftdrobe so thought they would add the perfect touch.  So my love birds were started.

A5 card size.  First i stamped the birds using blue ink and simply coloured with blue and yellow inks, glossy accents on the eyes.  I then glued on blue and yellow feathers for the tails and wings.  I added the yellow to break up the colour.  For the background, I first die cut a heart to use as a stencil (see below), i then stamped the woodgrain through the heart onto my background using the same blue ink. Gently edged the heart with the yellow ink.  I then stamped the grunge stamps across the panel in blue, just to add interest.  Edged with yellow ink.  Mounted onto navy cardstock to frame and white base card.

Showing close up detail, the birds are very dimensional and the background completely flat.  The 'love' came from a 'with love' stamp, i just inked up the love part, then die cut into a small heart and covered with glossy accents.

This is showing the stencil i made and stamped through.  You can easily use any shape you fancy.

Thank you Caz and all at Make My Monday for inviting me to join the team.  I look forward to the
challenge.

New Home cards

Good Morning all, Saturday again.  I hope you've all had a good week.

So today im sharing 2 new home cards i made, turns out my last uploads weren't my last curved border ones - sorry!, turns out they are popular so ive been asked to make a few of them.

These are slightly different as ive built a scene on the front, so not clean and simple.  Im also using the schedule function for the first time to see how it works etc, so hopefully these go live at 8am!

3.5x6" cardblanks, curved border die used to cut the front edge, i then covered the back with patterned paper.  I used curved borders for the 'grass' to build my scene, house dies which i paper pieced, sun and cloud dies.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Just shows how the front looks when stood up

and this is rebel Jess who decided to help me take the photos!!  Just as well the cards were going to a pet friendly home, so the odd cat hair was ok! Ah the joys of crafting with pets, who knows about that one?!

Products used: Papers are all 'Yes Please' Amy Tangerine, American Crafts. Memory box cloud die, Clearly besotted sentiment stamp.

Thank you for looking and all your continued support. I have something rather exciting happening next week so i hope you will pop by.   Wishing you all a lovely weekend.  Emma

HB2U robot boys birthday card

Good Morning all, another week gone, where do they go so fast? A few snow flurries down here, but don't expect we will have much, hopefully you don't either, stay warm.

So today im sharing the second card ive made with my robot dies, its for a young teenage boy, so i used text speech for the happy birthday to you, plus it fitted on the card better!

5x5 grey pearl cardblank, i then embossed the white card with a cog design.  I built the robot from grey pearl, blue, gold & red mirror card from my bit box.  White & grey circle frames offset, 3 blue eyelets set into the frame. Cogs then cut from the same colours of mirror card.

Close up, the blue mirror on the robot is mottled, not sure why but think it kind of gives a distressed look, after all this is one hard working robot! 😊

Just showing the mirror card better.

While  i was making this and the last robot card i kept thinking i could do with some 'nuts & bolts' dies, often thought that in the past when making male cards too, have you seen any in your crafty travels or do you think you would love to have some nuts and bolts dies?, as a friend asked Robert Addams if he would consider making some, if enough of us ask him then possibly he would.  So if you think you would use them then dropping him a line would be great. Thank you for looking and all your comments last week.  I hope you all have a good weekend and keep warm.  Hugs Emma

Male Get Well Shutter card

Good Morning everyone, a sunny day down here.

So today im sharing a male get well shutter card ive made.

A friend kindly sent me the navy blue shutter card base and blue and white paper mats, so i then set about finding some stash to go with it and came up with this male design.  I die cut the umbrella man, hats, mustache, glasses and pointing hand from both navy card and silver holographic mirri card and just off set them so the silver peeks out and breaks the design up a bit.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Items used: Sizzix Tim Holtz umbrella man die, Xcut vintage icons die set.  Memory box cross stitch rectangles.

Thank you for taking a peek.

I hope you have a good day. Emma

Nuts about you!

Good Morning all, welcome to another week.

So today im sharing a fun card, could be ideal as a male valentine or birthday.

I first created the frame and sentiment using craft artist daisytrail Robot's digikit and printed out 3 copies, one for the base, the second one i cut the frame and the 3rd one i cut the nuts and bolts off and layered over the base one.  I then die cut my robots in steel satin card and backed with scraps of pink and orange mirror card and then added different coloured card back in for the eyes and mouth.   I then die cut cogs to layer onto the frame.  I covered the sentiment, nuts & bolts in glossy accents. Bronze pearl drops on the frame to act like rivets.

Close up and it shows the light hitting the mirror and satin card better.  Its not quite as dark as the photo.

Thank you for looking and all your amazing comments last week.  I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Peach florals

Good Morning all, i hope you've had a good week and the storms we had the last few days have missed you.

So today im sharing some little floral cards i made using papers i made using a mix of brushos and pixie powders, i have added a couple of pixie powders to my stash after seeing a couple of crafty friends cards they sent me using them at Christmas, they have a lovely pearl finish and mix so well with the brusho's.

4 little cards using those fishtail dies again.  First i made my peach papers with the pixie powders and brushos.  Then i made shaped cardblanks using the largest fishtail die.  I cut a smaller one from white card and embossed 2 with a honeycomb pattern and 2 with a swirl pattern.  I hand cut the peach mat layer.  I made up my dimensional flowers and added a pearl to the centre.  Rose leaf die cut from green paper made with green brusho's.  Pearls and a touch of glitter glue to finish.  Sentiment tab cut using the flat side of the fishtail dies so that it has the same cross stitch edge to tie it in.

Showing how they stand up

close up to show the dimension on the flowers

Items used:  Colourcraft brusho's, cosmic shimmer pixie powders, sizzix honeyhomb embossing folder, docrafts swirl embossing folder, unknown make of dies, clearly besotted sentiment stamps

Thank you for looking and all your amazing comments these week, i appreciate every one of them and those that are visiting my little blog.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Emma

Greyscale cats & dogs

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.  Boy did it rain here yesterday, better this morning, it was certainly raining cats and dogs yesterday! I wonder where that saying comes from.  So today im sharing my last batch of those crazy cats and dogs.

This time i went for completely different and greyscale, i only added a small touch of colour, one set is red, the second is blue.  I don't think of myself as a colourist, so many talented crafters out there that do amazing colouring in, but i did enjoy having a go!  and its so rare for me not to go full on colour.

Set of 3 DL cards, i first stamped the images on to small white squares and coloured in with distress inks.  I then inked around the edges with grey to give a vignette effect to them.  Matted onto a black frame.  Then i made the card black and mats using white hammered and black cardstock.  No sentiment yet, not decided on that so will add that later.

Below is a close up of the 3 sets, i added glossy accents to the noses and eyes to add interest

Distress inks used, black soot, hickory smoke and fired brick for the red, although i did use a touch of blue for the grass

2nd set below using blue instead of the red

Distress Ink Colours used black soot, hickory smoke, stormy sky.

Items used Tim Holtz Crazy cats and dogs mini stamps - CMS272
