Lots of hexagons

Good Morning everyone, what gorgeous weather we are having, i hope you are keeping cool ok.  The cats and i are arguing over the fan😊

Today i am sharing 2 cards i made with my new hexagons dies, idea came by accident really.  When the dies first arrived to check they cut ok i cut them all at once and just put the 'frames' on the desk, when i looked later some had overlapped others and i came up with this idea.  Rotating every other frame and gluing together, gives this rather cool looking shape.  I then stamped it using floral stamps and oxide inks.

Finished size is just over 7x7.   I first die cut the largest hexagons from white linen cardstock, then glued together as mentioned by rotating every other one, i then dug out some flowers stamps and distress oxide inks to stamp a pattern onto it.  I then mounted it with foam tape onto co-ordinating cardstock - teal and then mounted onto white card base cut to shape.  Stamped sentiment glued back in the middle aperture.  I then stamped extra flowers using the same stamps and ink and cut them out.

Close up, i also added glitter glue accents.

and onto version two

Same method as the first one, only this time different stamps and colours, matted onto purple pearl cardstock.

I coloured the flowers and added a pink glitter glue after fussy cutting them out.

Just showing the insert.

and the i did a version of the old triple stamping technique.

First die cut 3 hexagons of descending sizes, add a touch of removeble glue to the top centre of the largest 2 and stick together in a stack, one on top of each other and then stamp the design with oxide inks the flowers and the sentiment, then remove the removeable tape so you have the 3 seperate layers,

Die cut purple mat layers and add one on top of each other with foam tape.  Mount onto white card base cut to shape.

I stamped a single flower and cut out and added glitter glue.  Approx size 5.5x5.5"

This one shows the layers before i attached them together.

The same as above just a different colourway and using bigger hexagons.  Approx 6.5x6.5"

Items Used:
Large Stitched Hexagon dies
Stampin up 'fabulous florets' stamps (2nd card)
Sadly Ive lost the label of the first stamp set - its years old too - maybe hero arts
Justrite sentiment stamps
Distress Oxides - twisted citroen, candied apple, peacock feathers, picked raspberry, wilted violet.
Stickles glitter glue, sprinkled sugar, fruit punch

Thank you for stopping by and all your recent visits and comments.  Keep cool. Emma
