Relax male card

Good Morning all, i hope you all had a good weekend.

Its time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz, the theme for the next fortnight is:

RELAX

Searching through my stash i found this lovely image in an old LOTV art pad.  I picked out the colours in the image of grey & blue.

A5 white cardbase.   I found in my stash cardstock in a dark blue and grey for matting and layering and a few papers to co-ordinate too.  I first die cut the image into an oval, layered onto bigger ovals of blue and grey.  Onto the base card i layered up the papers, of setting the blue foliage ones.  I added the topper with foam pads.

I then die lots of little leaves from the same papers picking up on the branches in the image.  I arranged them around the topper.  I found a scrap of card in yellow/peach and die cut lots of little birds.  I went with that colour for the birds to stand out against the dark colours and also it picks up on the images skin tone.

I then die cut the sentiment in white and blue, added the blue as a drop shadow and added to the bottom of the cardfront.  Left over leaves and birds to finish.

Close up of the topper, this shows the colours a bit better.

Items Used:
LOTV art pad
Spellbinder oval dies
Memory box bird dies
Small leaf dies
Papers - rustic atmosphere - poundland
Paper - Blackberry lane - wild rose studio
Paper - Papermania Parisienne blue - docrafts

Carabelle stamps

Good Morning everyone, i hope you enjoyed the weekend.

So its time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday  with the theme for the next fortnight being

COLOUR AN IMAGE
Stamped or Digi image

I also decided to combine this with a birthday card for my best mate who is a little quirky so i dug out my paperartsy stamps and had fun.  Now im not really into colouring in, for me its not relaxing more a means to a end.  So i dont really do alot of it.  Anyway i went over board on this one and dug out the alcohol markers, wink of stella pens & distress markers.

I first stamped all my stamps with black archival ink, making a little scene for the quirky dog.  I doodled on some butterflies.  Then die cut into a stitched square.
I then added light colour to the background with diluted distress markers.  I coloured the flowers with alcohol markers.  I coloured the dog, sun & butterflies with wink of stella pens.  I stamped a second dog to cut out and decoupage on top of the first.

Mounted onto a black die cut square and a white 7x7" white cardblank. Glitter glue to finish.

Just a close up on the dog image, its a shame photo doesn't catch the sparkle of the wink of stella pens.

I is for Ice Cream

Good Morning all

Time for a new challenge over at alphabet challenge, letter I is for

ICE CREAM

Another theme i don't have much in my stash for, found these papers that came free with a cardmaking magazine years ago - knew they would come in handy one day!

5x5" Kraft basecard.  I layered one of the patterned papers onto mulberry cardstock and then the base card.  I die cut a white , larger mulberry, and larger kraft circle and layered up as the base to my ice cream cones.  This i mounted on the front with foam tape.

I then stamped the sentiment on a strip of white card, layered it onto mulberry and then kraft card.  I added a strip of patterned paper to the bottom die cut with a fringe die to add some interest.  Pink enamel drops to finish.

The ice cream cones were originally on ready made topper squares but i cut them out so i just had the cones.  I added touches of glitter glue, enamel drops and glossy accents.

Items Used:
MFT Die-namics Fringe Chevron die

Men's Fashion

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

Its time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz, the theme this fortnight is

MEN'S FASHION

So a real challenge for me too, i don't really have any stash for this theme but came across a sheet of paper in a 12x12 paper pad i got from B&M.  Its printed on kraft background so i decided to use Kraft card as my base and a gatefold, with the kind of wardrobe idea.

A4 gatefold made from Kraft card. I rounded the middle corners.  I found some bluey papers in my stash to use, which i layered onto the front panels., i then cut out from of the icons and a dapper looking chap, inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.  I arranged these on the front.  Threaded some brass buttons with blue twine and added to embellish.  I then added some chit chat stickers saying
Create Yourself Be Original.

Another view of the front, peeking into the inside

So the inside of my 'wardrobe'   I layered pattern papers onto the panels and more items of clothing etc.  I die cut the sentiment circle from white card and added the circle image of the chaps head - had the idea of being like a mirror or portrait.

This is the sheet of paper, so it came in useful.  The B&M paper pads are all great quality, almost thin card, and such varied designs in them.  They are all double sided so if you don't like one pattern you can use the other side.

Items Used:
Crafts You Create paper pad - 'Chic Vintage' by B&M
paper pad - 'Vintage Chic'  by poundland
MFT birthday sentiment circle die
Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers
TH vintage photo distress ink
Kraft Card
Brass buttons

How funny, just realised both paper pads have similar names!

Anyway please do hop over to cardz4guyz to join in and see what everyone comes up with.

Enjoy your week. Emmax

Wedding Card

Morning Everyone.

Today im sharing a wedding card i needed to make

6x5.5" white linen base card.  I cut a panel of white card and dry embossed with the tied together embossing folder.  I then mounted that onto Silver glitter card and black card and added to the card front.

I computer printed a sentiment and die cut into a plain oval, mounted onto a larger over from silver glitter card and then a fancy die cut oval from black card.  I added this to the front on foam.

I inked a panel of card with cracked pistachio oxide ink, once dry i die cut it into foliage.  These i added around the oval with pink ready made roses.  Pink pearls to finish.

A close up of the flowers, they are a two tone so rather nice.  This glitter card is actually totally smooth.

Items Used:
Spellbinders Oval standard dies & Opulent Oval dies
Couture Creations Tied together embossing folder
Unbranded foliage die
Ready made paper roses
Silver glitter card - Jellybean crafts
Pistachio Distress oxide ink

Thank you for stopping by, i hope you all have a lovely weekend. Emma

Fantasy - Fairy shaker card

Good Morning all, i hope you had a good weekend and are still enjoying the sunshine.  Well the cats and i are still competing over the fan😀,

So its time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday  the theme this fortnight is:

FANTASY
fairies, dragons, elves, unicorns, mermaids etc

Ive gone with fairies dancing in a flower garden shaker stepper card.  Fantasy is a good theme, you can go cute and twee or dark and mystic so something for everyone.

I first die cut my stepper card from white linen card and folded along the score lines.  I then die cut the matting panels from backing paper id made with orange and green brushos & pixie powders.

I then die cut the happy birthday twice, once from white card and then black card and offset them, i added a circle of acetate to the back.  As i only had a thin section to add the foam too i die cut 6 circle frames of card and glued together, i then glued that to the back of the happy birthday to create my shaker pocket, added my micro beads and glitter and added a circle of card orangey coloured with brushos to the back.  I then added this shaker element to the top of my card.

I then die cut my fairies from black card, i added vellum behind the wings which i lightly coloured with blue pen.  I die cut a second fairy and just cut out the body section and decoupaged on top of the base layer to add dimension.

I then die cut the floral swirl corner die from red and purple brusho/pixie powder card and arranged around the fairies so it looks like they are dancing among the flowers.  Yellow gems to finish.

Just showing the card face on

Close up of the shaker, i put orange behind as a kind of 'sun'

Blue & Brown - crazy birds

Good Morning all, i hope you are all enjoying the weather.

So its time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz,   the theme this fortnight is

BLUE & BROWN

Ive made quite a simple card, and paper pieced my stamped crazy bird.  Paper piecing has always been one of my fav techniques as im not really into colouring in.   I used papers from a 6x6 paper pad that isn't necessarily male orientated in design.

6x6 white cardblank.  I added a thin strip of blue dotty paper to the top and bottom of a panel of woodpanel paper and added to the cardfront.

I then stamped the bird in black so that i had the hair and feet on the wood paper.  I stamped the bird again on blue dotty paper and cut him out minus his feet and hair.  I gently shaped the body and added to the card front with glue gel lining up with the feet.  I stamped a 3rd time on white card cut out the eyes, beak & wing, and added this again onto the bird.  I added a touch of yellow pen to the beak, wing & tail.

Stamped sentiment die cut into a speech bubble.  Then i added a strip of blue ruler paper for the bird to stand on.

Close up of the bird, i added white gel pen highlights to his feet and hair and glossy accents to his eyes.

Items Used:
My Minds Eye paper pad 'remarkable' by Jen allyson
Tim Holtz Crazy bird stamps - original size
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Wild Honey distress marker pen
Glossy accents

So do pop over to cardz4guyz  join in and see what everyone comes up with for blue and brown.

Thank you for all your visits and comments.  Keep cool. Emma
